The test behaves like the test
A mock exam is only worth the hours it costs if the conditions match. Ours do.
- Adaptive where the real test adapts
- The SAT and GMAT route you to a second module based on how the first went, on the same rules the live tests use. A flat form would give you a score the real exam could not.
- Real section timing
- Each section runs on its own published clock — 32 and 35 minutes per SAT module, 45 per GMAT section — and the next section cannot be started early.
- Answers saved as you give them
- Every response is written the moment you make it. A dropped connection, a closed laptop or a flat battery costs you the time, never the answers.
- Safe auto-submit
- When a section's clock reaches zero the section submits itself with everything recorded up to that instant. Running out of time never costs you the work you had already done.
- Answered, blank and flagged
- The navigator shows each question's state at a glance and lets you flag one to revisit, so the last two minutes go to the questions that need them.
- Explanations after scoring, not before
- Every question is explained once the section is scored — what the answer is, and why the attractive wrong option is wrong.
Straight answers
- Are these real questions from past exams?
- No. Every question on Studeous is written by our own item writers against each exam's published specification. Reproducing questions from a live or retired exam would infringe the test owner's copyright, so we do not do it — and material that leaks from real exams is withdrawn from circulation, which makes it worthless for practice anyway.
- Will my practice score predict my real score?
- It predicts a range, not a number. Every test score carries a standard error of measurement — roughly ±40 points on an SAT composite — so a single practice test places you inside a band about 80 points wide. Completing more full sections narrows that band. Studeous reports the band rather than a single figure because the band is the honest answer.
- What happens if my connection drops mid-test?
- Your answers are saved as you give them, not when you submit. If the connection drops, the answers already recorded stay recorded, and you resume at the question you left with the section timer where it was.
- Can I retake a practice test?
- Yes. A retake is stored as a separate attempt so your history shows both, and scored sections you have already seen are marked as such — a second score on the same form measures your familiarity with that form as much as your ability, and you should be able to tell the two apart.
- Is Studeous affiliated with College Board, ETS, GMAC or Pearson?
- No. Studeous is an independent assessment provider with no affiliation to, endorsement by, or connection with any test owner. Exam names are used only to describe which test our material prepares students for.
