Composite 1, STEM 1
How the score is worked out
Your raw score is the number of scored questions you answered correctly. The highest raw scores are English 40, Mathematics 41, Reading 27 and Science 34.
Each raw score becomes a 1–36 section score through the conversion table for the practice test in ACT's guide.
Composite: add your English, Mathematics and Reading scores and divide by 3. A fraction of one-half or more rounds up; anything less rounds down. Science is not part of the Composite.
STEM: the average of Mathematics and Science, rounded the same way. It appears once you include Science.
What this cannot tell you
The tables belong to one official practice form. In ACT's words, a raw score of 35 on one form may be about as difficult to earn as a raw score of 37 on another, so the same raw score can mean a different section score on another test.
ACT's guide says a section left completely blank gets no scale score and no Composite is calculated. This page treats 0 correct as an answered section.
The optional Writing test is marked from your essay, not from a raw score, so it is not calculated here.

Frequently asked questions
Does Science count towards the Composite?▾
No. ACT's guide defines the Composite as the average of English, Mathematics and Reading. Science is reported on its own and, with Mathematics, makes up the STEM score.
How is the Composite rounded?▾
The three scores are added and divided by 3. A fraction of one-half or more rounds up; less than one-half rounds down. For example, 25 + 26 + 27 = 78 and 78 ÷ 3 = 26; 25 + 26 + 26 = 77 and 77 ÷ 3 = 25.67, which rounds to 26.
Will this match my score on test day?▾
Not exactly. The tables belong to one practice form ACT has published. ACT balances each form's difficulty with that form's own table, so on another form the same raw score can convert to a different section score.
How do I find my raw score?▾
Count the scored questions you answered correctly in each section. Questions marked “Not Scored” in ACT's answer key are field-test items and do not count.
Is anything I enter sent anywhere?▾
No. The sums run in your browser; nothing you enter is sent or stored, and you do not need an account.
